The mission of the KU Honors Program is to challenge students to launch extraordinary lives. Our curriculum aligns with this mission by combining honors courses with experiences that allow students to deepen and extend their learning. These experiences include undergraduate research, study abroad and internships, among others.
While these experiences are transformative, honors students sometimes lack the financial means to pursue them. The Honors Program offers Honors Opportunity Awards to help offset these costs.
A gift to support Honors Opportunity Awards means that a student can accept an internship in Topeka or Washington D.C., gain foreign language proficiency in Japan or help physicians at KU Medical Center study cancer treatment outcomes.
After a two-year hiatus of some activities, Honors wants to be ready to enable students to participate as these activities resume. Your gift will help us to ensure that students are able to have experiences that can significantly enhance their post-graduation plans.
Alan and Maria Stearns are providing a $20,000 match for Honors Opportunity Awards. This 1-to-1 match will multiply the benefits of your gift and help our students launch extraordinary lives.
