What is a One Day. One KU. ambassador?

Ambassadors are people who advocate for One Day. One KU. and inspire support by sharing information with friends, family and peers in their networks. #OneDayOneKU ambassadors are encouraged to reach out to friends and family via social media, text and/or email. Ambassadors receive a unique referral link to share — this will track donors who make a gift through your outreach efforts.

What do I need to do as a One Day. One KU. ambassador?

There are many ways to participate in #OneDayOneKU as an ambassador. Here’s how to join in:

• Check out our website to familiarize yourself with all the fund options, challenges, matches and leaderboard.
• On February 16, use your unique referral link and message to inspire friends and family to make a gift to any One Day. One KU. fund. Ambassador links allow you to spread the word, help our giving team keep track of donations that you bring in and enter you into the running for our fun incentives.
• Keep track of the day’s success via the leaderboards.
• Post on social media using #OneDayOneKU, your unique referral link, and some downloadable images.

How do I become eligible to receive incentives?

Share your unique referral link to inspire a minimum of three people (you and two others) to make a gift, and you’ll be eligible! Make sure to give through your unique referral link to receive credit. If you are eligible, we will reach out to you after One Day. One KU. to confirm your mailing address.

How do I customize my unique referral link?

While it is not a requirement to select a destination for your unique referral link, doing so will send potential donors directly to the donation page of your choice and simplify the experience.

1. Login to the ambassador dashboard
2. Click the dropdown next to "Referred Page" and search for the desired page. Click on that page. 
3. Copy the url that appears above the drop-down, and then use that link to direct people to the page!  

To make this work with multiple pages: repeat this process, choosing a different page in the dropdown, and then copy the link. The link will automatically update, so be sure to copy and paste each unique link somewhere for reference. 

What incentives are available?

• Grand Prize: Unique campus experience —  all ambassadors who receive five distinct gifts of $25 or more will be entered into a drawing for an exclusive tour of an area on campus (TBA) for themselves and up to four guests.
• Highest Gift Count: Unique campus experience — the ambassador with the highest number of gifts received through their personalized URL will be receive an exclusive tour of an area on campus (TBA) for themselves and up to four guests. 
• All ambassadors who generate at least two donations will receive a pair of One Day. One KU. gloves.
• All ambassadors who generate at least five donations will receive a KU knitted beanie.
• All ambassadors who generate 15 or more donations will receive a winter set of a KU knitted beanie, gloves and scarf. We have a limited supply of winter sets, and these will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
