At the KU Biodiversity Institute & Natural History Museum, we study the past and present life on earth to educate, engage and inspire...everyone! Join us for the One Day. One KU. 2023 giving day, as we raise funds to support Student Employees and for Live Exhibits Care.
STUDENT EMPLOYEES
The KU Biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum employs approximately 30-40 KU student hourly employees every semester. These students, different from our graduate student researchers, come from majors across KU, and work in a variety of roles at the museum. Many work in our collections and laboratories, while others share their skills and learn new ones in Outreach and Education, Exhibits and with Visitor Services. Students enrich the museum with their unique perspectives, enthusiasm and knowledge while gaining experience and building their resumes. Many projects would not be possible without these students and their diverse talents. Your contribution directly supports these student positions.
LIVE EXHIBITS CARE
Our unique living exhibits such as the Bee Tree, Bugtown, the PaleoGarden, and live snakes and anoles are visitor favorites. They require continuous care, which includes feeding the Madagascar hissing cockroaches, providing extra nutrition to the bees during winter and so much more. You can help ensure these living exhibits continue to bring science alive for museum visitors of all ages with a donation today.
Thank you for your support!
