ONE DAY. ONE KU. has ended, but your support makes a difference every day. You can still make a gift.
School of Nursing - Kansas City
Dedicated to improving health care through education, research, and innovation.

The KU School of Nursing prepares nurses for vital and emerging roles in health care. We are the Midwest leader in nurse education and health care practice, and the only doctoral/research university in Kansas.

Educating nurses for the future of health care takes investment... everyONE counts.

Your support on One Day. One KU. helps us discover and integrate new knowledge for nursing and healthcare practice and apply nursing expertise in service to the global community. To meet the needs of KU nursing students we ask for your help in three key areas:

Virtual Simulation

KU is a national academic leader in virtual reality (VR) simulation. We launched the first nursing VR simulation lab this fall, in conjunction with Meta (Facebook’s parent company). To maintain this cutting-edge simulation environment, we ask for contributions to:

  • Oculus headsets: $400 each
  • Immersive virtual clinical experiences: $6,000 each
  • Technology interns: $3,000 per semester
  • Charting iPads: $800 each
  • 5g hotspots (Salina/Rural students): $640 each
  • Gigabit service for 1 year (Salina/Rural students): $2,500 each

Pathways Program Youth Outreach
The Nursing Pathways Program inspires and supports diverse and underserved students who may not believe nursing school is doable for them. Outreach is an important part of the Pathways program. It encourages younger students to consider a career in nursing or other health professions.

To further the outreach arm of the Pathways Program, our goal is to create a summer immersive experience for in grades 6-9 to visit campus for an intensive 3-day program designed to inspire curiosity about the profession, we ask for contributions to our $30,000 goal.

Endowed Rural/Salina Professorship

Rural areas face many challenges to bettering the health of their communities. Challenges include higher percentages of uninsured people than in urban areas and aging populations with more chronic conditions. Solving rural health care challenges requires many approaches. Our approach starts with an endowed professorship

To kick-start this new endowed professorship, we ask for your contribution to meet our $1M goal.

KU School of Nursing has built an international reputation for outstanding academic programs and innovative research, and our alumni and faculty are among the most accomplished leaders in the field. Maintaining the highest standards to educate diverse students for evolving roles as clinicians, educators, researchers, and leaders requires the generosity of people like you.

Remember, everyONE counts.

Thank you for your generous support. Rock Chalk!
