Cancer Center

The University of Kansas Cancer Center seeks to accelerate cancer prevention, discovery, and care to save and improve more lives.

WHY WE NEED TO ACT NOW
The number of cancer cases in the United States is expected to increase by as much as 45 percent by 2030. Over our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. An aging baby boomer population, tobacco use, and obesity are the main factors fueling this increase.

The KU Cancer Center is poised to meet this challenge head-on. Through collaboration and the exchange of research ideas, our center leads the region in discoveries to prevent, treat, and cure cancer.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
We are inspired every day by our community members who believe in the work happening here. Through the support of private donations, we remain the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center in the region. NCI-designated cancer center patient survival rates are 25 percent higher, and with funding from NCI, we develop and transfer discoveries more quickly into cancer treatment options, giving our community access to top-quality care and life-saving clinical trials.

With your support, we continue to set our sights even higher. Please consider giving to the Cancer Center Discovery Fund for Research and be a part of expanding our efforts to prevent, treat, and cure cancer.
