The Lied Center of Kansas serves as a catalyst for the arts, creativity and engagement by presenting world-class performing arts and experiences for preschoolers through adults. We are proud to partner with Lawrence Public Schools in providing free arts experiences to all students in the district each year. From school-only performances to Third Grade Theatre Arts Day to educator workshops and more, integrating the arts into the lives of the next generation is at the core of our mission.
In celebration of our 25-year partnership with Lawrence Public Schools, we are raising funds for a unique and interactive art experience that would combine the efforts of a renowned visual artist with local teachers and students. The result—a visually stunning installation representing the artistic expressions of each student blended together to create a collective, community work of art.
Not only will students take great pride in the work they help create, but they will also gain critical experience in collaborating and learning to value others’ contributions—and, they’ll have a blast doing it. The community will also enjoy and be inspired by the colorful, energizing and impactful displays throughout the Lied Center lobby once completed.
Please consider a donation to help celebrate and strengthen this important community partnership. Your gift will also count towards your Friends of the Lied donor level.
