Spencer Museum of Art

Opportunities abound for University of Kansas undergraduate and graduate students at the Spencer Museum of Art. Currently, students make up half of the Museum’s staff and can be found in nearly every department, from collections and curatorial to education and exhibitions. Your gift will help sustain and expand opportunities for student employment at the Spencer Museum. Funds raised will support competitive salaries and benefits for student staff, as well as professional development and training experiences.

Student positions and internships at the Spencer Museum launch careers. Several former student employees have gone on to work in museums across the United States and abroad, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Peabody Essex Museum, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Palace of Fine Arts in Taipei, and the Library of Congress, to name a few. The Spencer’s professional staff also boasts numerous former student employees—including our Director Saralyn Reece Hardy, Curator of Works of Art on Paper Dr. Kate Meyer, and Head of Collections Management Sofia Galarza Liu, among others.

Your support for student positions at the Spencer Museum of Art will have lasting impact. One opportunity can make all the difference in a student’s future.
