Nursing can be described as both an art and a science, a heart and a mind. At its heart, lies a fundamental respect for human dignity and an intuition for a patient’s needs. This is supported by the mind, in the form of rigorous core learning and the discovery and application of evidence to care. Due to the vast range of specializations and complex skills in the nursing profession, each nurse will have specific strengths, passions and expertise.
It is the mission of the University of Kansas School of Nursing to, “Educate diverse students for evolving roles as clinicians, educators, researchers and leaders; discover and integrate new knowledge for nursing and healthcare practice; and apply expertise in service to the global community."
With your help, we can continue to shape the future of nursing.
