KU music students are performers, teachers, and healers. They are the crowd-pleasers and show stealers. They are the Jayhawks who provide the soundtrack to KU's richest traditions. Our students perform on the world's biggest stages, learn from leading experts in their fields and take their studies beyond the classroom to concert halls, clinics, schools, and hospitals. When you support the KU School of Music, you ensure that Jayhawks will share their musical talents with the world.
Our diverse, collaborative, and student-centered environment prepares future leaders in a variety of musical specializations. We are committed to nurturing and advancing the art of music through outstanding teaching, research, creativity, and service. Our choral and instrumental ensembles perform around the world. KU music therapy students fulfill their practicums in area medical and correctional facilities. Our music education and music therapy graduates enjoy a nearly 100 percent job placement rate!
As public funding for higher education declines, we need your help to keep strengthening our academic programs so we can continue to provide opportunities for students to turn their passion for music into lifelong careers. In recent years, donor support has provided scholarships and instruments, allowed for students to travel internationally to present research and to perform in world-class venues such as Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center.
Please consider a gift today to support the next generation of musical artists, leaders, and practitioners. On behalf of all of us here at the School of Music, thank you!
