We hope we can count on your support to create a living tribute to Kansas Veterans.
At the 2003 dedication, the Dole Institute of Politics honored Kansas WWII veterans and the Greatest Generation with a soaring WWII Memorial and digital kiosk register. Today, we are excited to announce an expansion of this original high-profile initiative to include all Kansas veterans from WWII to present day — to be featured on a new state-of-the-art, large-scale, interactive wall in the Dole Institute’s entrance hall, the Darby Gallery.
Your gift will allow us to engage families and veterans from across the state to submit photos of and information about their loved ones into our virtual veterans archive. This prominently displayed collection will be on public display and accessible to visitors of the Dole Institute with a planned dedication this November. Don’t miss the chance to multiply your impact, thanks to gift matching opportunities from Senator Bob Dole and local supporters, Larry and Jacqueline Gadt.
In this way, we can perpetually commemorate thousands of additional Kansas service men and women in the Dole Institute, alongside Senator Dole, for their sacrifice, service, and duty.
The Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics is one of the nation’s premier political institutes, promoting political and civic participation and civil discourse in a bipartisan, philosophically balanced manner. We celebrate public service and the legacies of U.S. Senators Bob Dole and Elizabeth Dole through our programming, congressional archive and public museum.
A unique gem in the KU community, the Dole Institute emphasizes that only through political and civic participation can citizens redirect the course of our nation. We connect students and community members to world leaders, innovators, journalists and authors. Thank you for helping us honor our veterans.
