At the Lied Center of Kansas, we believe the arts are essential to the human experience. This core belief rings true especially in times of crisis. Although we have never had a season under such unique circumstances, our mission remains the same. We are dedicated to presenting engaging performing arts and creating social connections—in safe and reimagined ways. With that vision in mind, we are seeking funds for Lied Loves Lawrence: Pop-Up Performances this spring.
When it was clear that it wasn’t safe to gather inside the Lied Center for performances this fall, we started a new initiative, Lied Loves Lawrence: Pop-Up Performances—bringing artists to outdoor spaces and neighborhoods in the Lawrence area. Our goal was to spread hope, joy and inspiration during such trying times for all. We were thrilled to see many smiling faces relishing the power of the performing arts in a safe and socially distant manner.
With spring weather approaching, we hope to continue our outdoor pop-up performances for the public to enjoy, free of charge! As the pandemic continues to greatly impact artists, venues and the entire community, your support will help secure artists for pop-up performances and give people access to uplifting and safe events.
Please consider a donation to the Lied Loves Lawrence: Pop-Up Performance program. Your gift will also count towards your Friends of the Lied donor level.
