Our Jayhawk journalism alumni have been at the forefront of media innovation for more than 100 years, and now more than ever, it is so important to educate ethical and enlightened media, marketing and communications professionals. You are an important part of the story of the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Please consider continuing that legacy by supporting the next generation of Jayhawk journalists by contributing to J-School student scholarships during One Day. One KU. on February 18.
Del Brinkman Scholarship: Del Brinkman was dean of the School of Journalism from 1974 to 1986, then was vice chancellor at KU from 1986 to 1993. Brinkman was a beloved educator and leader whom many considered to be one of the top deans of journalism in the country. The scholarship will support journalism students at KU.
KEEP Fund: The Kansan Editors’ Endowed Partnership (KEEP) provides funds annually to the Kansan and supports the salary for the University Daily Kansan’s student editor and business manager. The fund was started by Kansan alumni to maintain the presence and legacy of the 116-year-old student newspaper.
General Scholarships: For many students, whether they are able to attend KU hinges on scholarships and financial aid. Generous alumni, some of whom themselves were the recipients of scholarships during their time in the J-School, continue to pay that gift forward by donating to the general scholarship fund to assist current and future generations of Jayhawk journalists.
