The Kansas Biological Survey is a KU designated research center that houses more than 50 researchers and staff dedicated to understanding terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems and human impacts on these environments. The KU Field Station, managed by the Bio Survey, is a 3,700‐acre biological research station containing vast infrastructure for scientific inquiry, as well as meeting facilities and nature preserves in the region.

Help undergraduate students gain real-world experience in conservation and management of natural resources.
Increase exploratory research funds for graduate students to study biodiversity in Kansas.
Support public outreach and education programs at the KU Field Station.
Maintain and improve facilities to enrich the visitor experience at the KU Native Medicinal Plant Research Garden, a gateway to learning about native plants, located just 10 minutes north of downtown Lawrence.
