The Lied Center of Kansas serves as a catalyst for the arts, creativity and engagement by presenting world-class performing arts and experiences. It is a core part of our mission to provide opportunities for those who might not otherwise have access to the arts. With that goal in mind, we are seeking funds to expand our outreach efforts to bring performing arts programming to arts-underserved communities in Kansas.
The Lied Across Kansas program was developed in 2015 as a five-year project, in which performing artists went on tour in four Kansas communities (Hays, Russell, Sabetha and the Salina-area). Students, educators and community members in these areas experienced the arts in an enhanced way through workshops, performances and conversations with world-class artists—free of charge. Incredible relationships have developed due to the program, and the impact of the tours has been profound.
With your support, we can double the reach of this important program and spread the power of the performing arts, building and fostering relationships in even more communities. Please consider a donation to the Lied Across Kansas Expansion project for performing arts programming in eight arts-underserved areas in Kansas beginning in the 2020–21 Lied Center Season.

“I’ve never seen a musical performance such as the one we had here in Sabetha tonight. They are remarkable musicians. These students don’t get to witness this type of live music!”—Joelline Stolter, Sabetha, KS piano teacher
