The University of Kansas School of Medicine campus in Salina was created to address the critical shortage of physicians in Kansas. This innovative medical education program is aimed at students with a strong desire to practice in rural areas. A gift to One Day. One KU. will provide funds for three significant educational areas on the Salina campus.
Renewable Scholarships
Scholarships are an important piece of medical education and ease the financial burden for medical students. Increased monies designated to renewable student scholarships will encourage enrollment on the Salina campus and offer current students more opportunities for financial aid and reducing student debt.
Engaging in International Medical Missions
Medical missions allow students to visit underdeveloped countries and provide quality healthcare to those in need. In 2019, Salina students embarked on the inaugural mission for our campus and experienced an opportunity that was invaluable to their medical education. Your donation helps Salina students defray the cost of travel and other expenses for international missions.
Interprofessional Education
The Salina campus provides a robust interprofessional curriculum. Our simulation, clinical skills, and procedural labs provide collaborative learning events with differing medical specialties in a safe, simulated environment. Funds dedicated to interprofessional education would provide faculty support, help maintain current technology, and purchase new, state-of-the art equipment.
One Day. One KU is a great way to make an immediate impact in the lives of our students and we thank you for your continued generosity.
