School of Medicine-Kansas City

We are a medical school on a mission, committed to enhancing the quality of life in our community and around the world. Widely recognized for superior academic instruction, innovative scientific discoveries and outstanding clinical programs, we are driven to excel in every aspect of our program.

Students are the heart of our mission, and we endeavor to do all we can to support them. Our new Health Education Building with state-of-the-art simulation technology and flexible learning spaces is facilitating an interprofessional educational experience that is second-to-none. Students from all three schools at the academic medical center — Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions — are coming together to learn side-by-side in a real-world environment that has yet to be duplicated by any other school of medicine.

This summer marked the launch of our new curriculum, ACE (Active, Competency-based, Excellence-driven). A transformation in the way we teach medicine, ACE is designed to ensure that our graduates become exceptionally skilled practitioners of medicine, as well as leaders and advocates for healthcare quality and research, who are prepared for lifelong learning and service.

Where we need your help is scholarship support. The median scholarship from KU Endowment for medical students is $3,000, while in-state tuition is $36,617 per year. We must do better for our students. Our goal is to increase the number and size of scholarships to reduce the burden of student debt, attract and retain Kansas' best, and bolster diversity within our classes.

Please consider supporting scholarships for our medical students on
ONE DAY. ONE KU. Your gifts have a meaningful impact.
